Description:
What many don't realize about the venerable name of "Wakmann Watch Company" is that it is the name of an American agent and importer. They are famous orchestrators; having watches custom-built to their obsessive standards and marketed through high-end jewelers around the U.S. It also is little known that most of the high-grade movements of these extraordinary timepieces were made by either Breitling or Buren. In the case of the legendary Wakmann triple-date/triple register — one of the finest wristwatches ever produced — the movement is the famous Valjoux 72 C. Today, those collectors who know the significance of the Wakmann name and the quality behind it faithfully collect its timepieces.

What a delight it is to offer this bastion of 20th century watchmaking — the extremely desirable Wakmann triple-date/triple register oversized chronograph in gold fill and steel. Not only is it one of the most desirable vintage watches available today, it features a perfect spun-pearlescent dial highlighted by yellow gold-and-black markers; surrounded by a calendar track. Marked "Wakmann/Incabloc/17 jewels/Swiss," it is simply breathtaking.

Measuring an impressive 46mm by 40mm (!) in diameter, this gold fill and stainless case is as well-balanced and proportioned as anything one could hope to find in a more modern, less well-constructed watch. A six-slotted back with the familiar "Galleon" waterproof seal is marked stainless steel/antimagnetic/incabloc/Swiss made/pressure tested to 5 atm"

This work of horological genius is in very good overall condition — perfect dial, excellent hands and yellow gold-filled case and stainless back with slight wear.

Of course we have taken the liberty of cleaning, oiling and calibrating this watch and fitting it with a new black shark strap so that it keeps time as it was intended.
